Inspiring Bible Quotes About Life

If you are looking for inspiration,

If you are looking for direction,

If you are looking to connect to ancient wisdom,

If you are looking for a perspective on life,

If you are looking for encouragement,

If you are looking for intellectual interest,

If you want to nourish your soul,

If you are looking for comfort,

Is there a better source from the Bible?

If you are a religious person, then I can assume that the Bible fills a significant place in your life, and yet, there are many religious people, who out of habit, the burden of life, education, or any other reason, do not give the Bible the special place it deserves.

And if you are a non-religious person, is there a real reason the Bible does not fill a significant place in your life?
Not everyone will like this sentence, but enjoying the Bible does not require you to be a religious person. It is possible to derive a very great emotional, mental, and intellectual value from the Bible even without being believers.

Bible quotes about life are meant to give you all the things I mentioned earlier, inspiration, psychic relief, intellectual pleasure. Reading them daily, especially first in the morning, can be a pleasant way to kick start your day. And they are, of course, just the appetizer to the real thing, which is the whole bible.

If you think more verses belong here, write in the post below, and I will add them.

Bible verses about eternal life

“The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.”

The Bible talks several times about living an eternal life with God. One of them is noted in Psalms’ book, where it says that the Lord knows the days of those who have not done anything wrong. They need not worry about their inheritance because it belongs in the kingdom of God, and they shall be rewarded.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”

This psalm was penned down by the great King David, who wrote a thanksgiving prayer and praise to God. The verse acknowledges that God’s home (which is heaven) is our permanent place to stay, and no matter what happens, his goodness and lovingkindness will keep running after us.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Another wonderful passage from the Bible, where you can read about eternal life, is in the book of Psalms 16:11. Here, it says that in the presence of God, there is the fullness of joy. Those who follow him become aware of the path of life. In his right hand, there are pleasures forever.

bible verses about long life

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

The book of Isaiah points to the goodness of God and his word several times throughout the passages. Here, it talks about how his words will never fade away and last till eternity. It says that the flowers fade; the grass withers and die, but the word of God lasts for a lifetime.

“For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?”

This Bible verse talks about the glory of the eternal Lord. It acknowledges the fact that God is alive, and he can deliver our souls from death or eternal fire. His word prevents our feet from stumbling and allows us to walk before God in the light of the living.

Bible quotes about life and death

Death is inevitable. It spares nobody and comes in one form or the other. It could be the death of a parent, a friend, or someone near us. It makes us bitter, angry, frustrated, and upset.

However, the Bible consoles those who are heartbroken over death. It reminds us that he is upholding and supporting us, loving and embracing us, and keeping us safe and secure even though our circumstances are not perfect. On that note, here are some bible verses on life and death.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”

This beautiful Bible verse reminds us that God cares about his people. He cares about his saints, and the death of his people is precious in His eyes. He takes care of the departed and keeps them safe in heaven.

"13. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses. 14. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder."

The Bible verse says that no matter what binds you, whether it is a mental struggle, impending death, or even physical illness, the Lord guarantees one thing- he will provide you freedom from all your pain.

“And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.”

The book of Isaiah talks about the love of God and how eternal and beautiful it is that no power or force can separate us from becoming united with Him. This verse says that God’s love will dissipate in all the sadness that is too often around us. He will liberate his people from death from now till the end of time and eternity.

“For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”

Ezekiel’s book talks about God, whose love is so good and strong that He finds no pleasure in anyone’s death. He loves his people enough to let them enjoy their freedom, to live and be happy.

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

Another powerful Bible verse that says that God created us from dust and when the end of our time comes, we shall return to dust as well, and the spirit that He gave us shall return to Him.

Bible verses about life being short

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

This Bible verse reminds us that life is concise, and we are here on this earth for a limited number of times. So we have to make the most of what we have and become wiser people to serve God’s purpose.

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

This passage talks about the short time we have on this earth and how it is important to put our best efforts into everything we say and do. Because time spent gone does not return, we will not get this chance again once we have left the earth.

“Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.”

The Bible advises young people to be happy and free because life is too short to be stressed and anxious, and youth does not last forever.

“Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?”

Not much needs to be said about this verse. It is quite evident that God designed us to live only for a few years and make the most of the time we have now.

Bible verses on life lessons

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

This passage in the Bible says that wisdom comes from the Lord and Holy One & to have knowledge and understanding, one should seek Him, honor Him, and have reverence for Him.

“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”

The Bible strongly condemns against focusing on the riches of the world. It says that riches won’t help you on the day you face death. However, honesty and wisdom can add more years to your life.

bible verses about new life

“Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.”

To have wealth and maintain it, one must avoid all shortcuts. If you work hard consistently and daily, wealth will be yours, and it won’t slip off your hands easily.

“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

This Bible verse is a pleasant reminder that if you want to have a successful and happy life, it is important to speak to God about it first. One should commit his plans to the Lord first, and God will give him directions and steps.

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

It is natural to get broken-hearted and disappointed at some point in life. The Bible, however, reminds us in the book of Psalms that God knows your pain and sorrows, and he provides consolation and peace to those looking for shelter.

“But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.”

This Bible verse reminds people never to be dismayed by the world; he will be our strength. He will uphold us, keep us strong, and protect us from harm and evil.

Bible verses on life and love

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

This Bible verse talks about love- the kind of love God wants his people to have in their hands. The passage suggests that everyone who believes in God should give Him their priority and do all it takes to serve Him. Their love for God should be expressed in simple words but also in action.

“Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

God gave a strong commandment to His people. This passage in Leviticus advises Christians to stay far away from taking revenge and bearing grudges against people and enemies. Instead, it focuses on loving one another, just like God loves His people and the way people love and care for themselves.

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.”

This Bible verse speaks of God’s protection in the life of His people. It strongly reminds people that those who find refuge in God will be happy and filled with joy. God is pleased with those who obey and follow Him and keeps his angels in charge of them to protect them from all things fatal.

2. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3. For thy lovingkindness [is] before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

This Bible verse acknowledges the fact that God tests his people. He examines the hearts of those who follow Him. He also cleanses and washes the hearts of those who are sinful.

bible verses about eternal life kjv

“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.”

Psalm 103:8 reminds us of God’s compassion, his abounding love towards his people, and his merciful heart that doesn’t punish people according to their sins.

Bible quotes about life

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”

This Bible verse talks about the safety and goodness of God in all phases of life. It reminds us to lie down and sleep peacefully because God makes us all dwell in safety. He looks after us and watches over us.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

This Bible verse declares that God is good, and to enjoy his goodness, we need to enjoy his presence and be in it. We need to find refuge in it. We must not just see and sense but also taste his goodness.

“(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Another great verse about life can be found in this verse. It says that God is our protector. He takes care of us, and that assurance is all we need to know in this difficult walk of life.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The prophet Jeremiah says in the name of God that he thinks well of the people of Israel and promises him a future of hope and peace

Bible quotes about life struggles

“As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

This Bible verse acknowledges that life will be full of various struggles, but it also says that there is nothing to worry about, for God will comfort his children like a mother comforts her child.

“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

This Bible verse says that God is always before us. He is always at our right hand, and therefore, even though struggles come our way, we should never be shaken or worried because He is protecting us with his rod and staff.

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

This particular verse of the Bible says that God knows those who are weak. He acknowledges them and promises never to forsake them. He promises to make them powerless to sit amongst kings and princes and be known to others for their good works.

“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”

The Bible says that we must seek the Lord with all our strength. We should search for his presence at all times. It is He who gives us strength. Only He will understand our needs and help us during dark and difficult phases of life, especially when struggles come our way.

Bible verse about life purpose/living life with purpose

"9. Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up."

The Bible says that your life has a purpose if you have love in your heart. Those who know how to love one another will also be able to uplift each other up. It is always better to be in a company than to be alone, for it is only in a company that you will find love, sympathy, and support. And that indeed is one of our biggest purposes in life.

“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.”

The Bible also reminds us of our life purpose in Ecclesiastes 7:9. It says that we should not be full of anger or quick to become angry. Anger is something that lodges in the heart of foolish people. Instead, in various chapters of the Bible, we are taught to be patient and understanding, have sympathy in our hearts and empathize with others. Anger not only destroys situations but also takes us away from serving the purpose of God.

bible quotes about life

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.”

Living a life with purpose also means to take heart, be strong, and constantly be filled with hope. Psalm 31 wonderfully reminds us that to live a successful life, we have to be mentally strong and never give up on the situation, for the God we serve is bigger than our needs and our problems.

“Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.”

The Bible reminds us of Ezra’s book to be courageous, no matter what the circumstance or situation is. It tells us not to hold back in life.

“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

This Bible verse teaches you to give thanks to God at all times. His greatness is beyond understanding. It is good, and His love will last for a lifetime and forevermore. It is a wonderful word of encouragement for broken-hearted people and is looking to find purpose in their lives.

Bible verses about life changes

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

Life changes but the goodness of God does not. The Bible reminds us of this in the book of Malachi. It says that God is the only constant one. Everything else might change or take a turn, but He won’t fail any of His promises or go against His word.

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:”

The book of Daniel reminds us again of God’s goodness and that he is the only one who can change things around. He gives an understanding of the wise, establishes kings, and removes them. Only he has the authority to make changes. So if you face any life changes, let it be according to the will of God.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

In this particular verse of the Bible, we are taught to be courageous and strong, not afraid or discouraged. Surely that means that there will be situations in life where we will feel several changes one after the other. But let that not instill a sense of fear in you because God will be with you no matter where you are.

"22. [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness."

This has to be one of the best Bible verses written. It reminds us that God’s mercies are brand new every day. They renew every morning, just as the sun rises. God is all we have, so we must put all our hopes on him.

Bible verses about living life to the fullest

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

Here, we are told that our days are numbered, and we will not be here forever. But we must apply our hearts to wisdom and live our lives the best way possible.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

This Bible verse shows us the biggest secret to living a happy and satisfying life. It says that to have all our hearts’ desires fulfilled, we must learn to delight in the Lord first. We must obey His commandments and follow Him.
